Itinerary
48 Hours of Bath Glow
Two golden days to see Bath at its most radiant — from skyline sunrises to candlelit suppers and twilight spa sessions.
There is a soft shimmer to Bath when you slow the pace. This 48-hour itinerary follows the light, ensuring every coffee, soak, and stroll feels unhurried yet rewarding.
Day one — Arrivals and first impressions
Check into a Georgian townhouse stay near Queen Square, drop your bags, and head straight to the Roman Baths before the day-trippers arrive. Listen to the audio stories, pause on the terrace, and feel centuries of wellness wash over you.
Cross to Bath Abbey for the 11am tower tour. As you step onto the rooftop, the city fans out below: Pulteney Bridge to the east, green hills to the south. Lunch at The Green Bird keeps things local with seasonal plates, then wander down Walcot Street for vintage browsing and a flat white from Cortado Café.
Golden hour ritual
Just before sunset, lace up for the Bath Skyline walk. Begin at Alexandra Park, where the city glows amber. Follow the meadow path, watching hot air balloons occasionally lift above the valley. Return in time for a twilight session at Thermae Bath Spa — book the 7pm slot for starlit steam swirling around the rooftop pool.
Dinner belongs to The Circus Restaurant, only a five-minute stroll from the spa. Order the West Country lamb and a glass of English sparkling wine. Finish with a moonlit amble around The Circus and into the Royal Crescent.
Day two — Countryside and creativity
Begin with sunrise on Pulteney Bridge and a croissant from Landrace Bakery. Hire bikes from Green Park Station and follow the Two Tunnels Greenway, emerging into open countryside flooded with morning light. Stop for coffee in Midford before looping back via Prior Park Landscape Garden, where the Palladian bridge frames the city.
After lunch at Society Café, spend the afternoon gallery-hopping: Holburne Museum for art history, then Topping & Company for literary inspiration. Book a photography walk with me for late afternoon — we will capture reflections along the canal and the Abbey at blue hour.
